1. OAXACA



Oaxaca (wa-hah-kah), a city located about 300 miles south of Mexico City, is the capital of the state of the same name. Oaxaca city’s pleasantly mild climate, due to its altitude of 5000 feet above sea level, is but one many reasons to visit. Rich in history and culture, Oaxaca is a fascinating destination where you can appreciate ancient civilizations, colonial art and architecture and vibrant cultural traditions. Oaxaca is one of the safest Mexican tourist destinations you could choose. Extraordinary cuisine, unique handicrafts, fascinating archaeological sites, colonial architecture, vibrant villages and the welcoming locals with their deep-rooted traditions all combine to make Oaxaca one of the most enchanting places to visit in Mexico.

2. TULUM


Tulum is one of the most visited and beautiful Mayan cities in Mexico. Part of its charm is that it was built facing the ocean, on a cliff from where the turquoise shades of the Caribbean Ocean can be admired in all their splendor. This destination combines culture, history and one of the best beaches in all of Mexico. This unique destination, located at the edge of the ocean, is the most photogenic in the region and perhaps in the entire country. At the southern end of the archaeological site is one of the most peaceful beaches in the Riviera.

3. PLAYA DEL CARMEN


This city in the Mexican Caribbean, which until recently was a fishing village, is today a meeting place for young Europeans, South Americans and Mexicans looking for fun and relaxation. Here, there are many good restaurants and bars, and you can stay at design hotels and participate in diving and water sports, as well as play golf on professional courses. Quinta Avenida (Fifth Avenue). It is Playa del Carmen’s most famous street. On this pedestrian street you will find souvenir shops, crafts and fine silver jewelry shops and stores offering luxury branded items. Playa del Carmen is one of the most important culinary destinations in the Riviera Maya.

4. GUADALAJARA


Guadalajara is Mexico's second biggest city, and in many respects can be considered the absolute Mexican destination. This is the birthplace of mariachi music and tequila, but also one of the country’s industrial and business centers, sometimes referred to as Mexico's Silicon Valley. Unlike many colonial cities that maintain their original town plan, in the 1950s Guadalajara underwent a major project that changed the face of the city. Older buildings were razed to allow for wide avenues with new constructions, underground parking lots and shopping centers. Fortunately, the most beautiful older buildings were left intact. At the heart of Guadalajara is the cathedral. With its twin pointed towers and central dome, it is the most recognizable landmark on the Guadalajara skyline.

5. SAN MIGUEL DEL ALLENDE



San Miguel Allende is a most original destination for romance. A unique colonial town with a vibrant multicultural artistic community. it is known by Mexicans and foreigners alike is surrounded by agriculture farms and livestock ranches. The mining splendor of the region during colonial times gave rise to its rich architecture with mansions and magnificent churches. In the 1940´s as a result of the arrival of the National Fine Arts Institute, painting, theater and music found a unique location to thrive and attract domestic and foreign artists giving San Miguel an outstanding cultural level, while keeping a picturesque laid back environment.

Holla amigos! My name is Mad Fazwan bin Aidros and today, I would like to talk about comida Mexicana or Mexican food in English. So, after doing several research and reading, I did found top ten most favourable food among tourist when they are visiting Mexico. Mexico known as one of the most popular destination among food lovers around the world. So, before leaving Mexico or planning to come here, make sure you need to taste this top ten Mexico food.

Don’t leave Mexico without trying…


1- Chilaquiles

                                                               Chicken Chilaquiles

This famous conventional breakfast dish highlights delicately singed corn tortillas cut into quarters and finished with green or red salsa (the red is marginally spicier). Scrambled or fried eggs and pulled chicken are usually added on top, as well as cheddar and cream. Chilaquiles are often served with a healthy dose of frijoles (refried beans).


 2- Pozole


Pozole is a traditional soup or stew from Mexico, which once had ritual significance. Usually Pozole is made from horminy and meat ( usually pork ). These days chicken, pork and vegetarian pozole versions are readily available in more everyday surroundings. Made using hominy corn with a lot of herbs and flavors, the dish is customarily stewed for a considerable length of time, regularly overnight. When prepared to serve, lettuce, radish, onion, lime and bean stew are sprinkled on top.



3- Tacos al pastor

 


Beef is marinated in a combination of dried chilies, spices and pineapple. In some places, Achiote is also added, and then slowly cooked with a gas flame on a vertical rotisserie called a trompo (lit: spinning top), fundamentally the same as how shawarma is cooked, with a bit of crisp onion and a pineapple on top. When ready, the meat is then thinly sliced off the spit with a large knife. It is served on little tortillas, with finely cleaved onions, cilantro, and infrequently, a little cut of pineapple, and generally finished with some lemon or lime juice and hot salsa.


4- Tostadas
Tostadas are a simple yet delightful dish combining corn tortillas fried in boiling oil until they become crunchy and golden. These are then served alone or heaped high with any number of garnishes. Popular toppings include frijoles (refried beans), cheese, cooked meat, seafood and ceviche (seafood dish).


5- Chiles en nogada
 

Gloating the three shades of the Mexican flag, chiles en nogada is one of Mexico's most devoted dishes. Poblano chillies loaded with picadillo (a blend of cleaved meat, (fruits and spices) represent the green on the flag, the walnut-based cream sauce is the white and pomegranate seeds the red.


 6- Elote 



You’ll find someone selling elote, the Mexican name for corn on the cob, on nearly every city street corner in Mexico. The corn is customarily bubbled and served either on a stick (to be eaten like an ice-cream) or in mugs, the pieces having been removed the cob. Salt, bean stew powder, lime, margarine, cheddar mayonnaise and sour cream are then included abundance.


7- Enchiladas

 

Nowadays both corn and flour tortillas are used and are loaded with meat, cheese, fish, beans, vegetables or the majority of the above. The stuffed tortillas are then covered in a chilli sauce making for a perfect Mexican breakfast.


8- Mole
 




            There are myriad types of mole but all contain around 20 or so ingredients, including one or more varieties of chilli peppers, and all require continuous stirring over a long period of time. Perhaps the best-known mole is mole poblano, a rusty red sauce usually served over turkey or chicken.

9- Guacamole
 

Guacamole is made from mashed up avocadoes, onions, tomatoes, lemon juice and chilli peppers (and sometimes a clove or two of garlic), guacamole is often eaten with tortilla chips or used as a side dish.

10- Tamales


 

Pockets of corn dough are stuffed with either a sweet or savoury filling, wrapped in banana leaves or cornhusks and steamed. Fillings vary from meats and cheeses to fruits, vegetables, chillies and mole. Remember to discard the wrapping before eating!
